Tempo D'Angelus 2023 shows a more approachable side of Château Angélus. It is neither the grand vin nor Carillon d'Angélus, but a separate red Bordeaux cuvée created within the Angélus range by the de Boüard de Laforest family. The grapes come from estate-owned parcels outside Saint-Émilion, including areas around Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs.The 2023 blend is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc playing a smaller but meaningful role. That gives the wine its direction: fresh, aromatic fruit from the Merlot, supported by the darker fruit, spice and tension associated in the producer's notes with the Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone slopes with tuffeau and marl, only a few kilometres from Saint-Émilion, keeping the wine firmly connected to Bordeaux.

Tempo is vinified in a cellar dedicated to this cuvée within the Chai Carillon in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon and aged in oak barrels. Château Angélus is a winery from Saint-Émilion, in the Bordeaux region of France, best known for its red wines based on merlot and cabernet franc.
