Tempo d'Angelus 2023 Magnum shows another side of Château Angelus: a red Bordeaux AOC made from the estate's own parcels outside the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. The de Boüard de Laforest family introduced this wine in 2019 as part of the Angelus range, alongside the more established wines of the property.The 2023 vintage is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc playing a smaller supporting role. The grapes come from areas including Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and Francs, on clay-limestone slopes with deep, relatively cool soils. That background fits the tasting profile described for this vintage: fresh fruit, floral detail and a more supple tannic frame.
