Domaine De Chevalier 2016 Red
On request only
Domaine de Chevalier 2016 Rouge is the red grand vin of the estate in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. This is not the second wine, but the main red wine of Domaine de Chevalier, classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine its structural line, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot adding fruit, roundness and aromatic detail.
The 2016 vintage gives this bottle much of its interest. A wet start to the year replenished water reserves, followed by an exceptionally dry summer. Rain in mid-September brought relief to the vines, and the long late season helped the grapes reach further finesse and ripeness. The estate gives an official drinking window from 2026 to 2046.

Domaine de Chevalier 2020 Rouge is the red grand vin of the estate in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan A.O.C. It is a dry red Bordeaux from France and part of the Crus Classés de Graves, with its identity closely tied to gravel soils, a clay-gravel subsoil and the wooded setting of the estate.
The 2020 vintage was early, sunny and warm. After a wet spring, July was very hot and dry, August brought useful rain, and September was dry and warm with clear day-to-night temperature differences. In the glass, that background translates into ripeness and concentration, but also into the freshness needed to keep a wine of this structure in line. The blend is 55% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 5% petit verdot and 5% cabernet franc.

Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2020 is the estate's grand vin from Pessac-Léognan, offered here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. That smaller size is a very practical way to enjoy a serious Bordeaux without opening a full bottle.
The wine is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc. Grapes were harvested by hand, carefully sorted, vinified parcel by parcel and aged for 16 to 18 months in barriques, around one third of them new. It reflects the detailed approach expected from a Grand Cru Classé de Graves: structure, precision and depth rather than simple power.

Domaine De Chevalier 2021 Blanc is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, produced in Léognan in the Graves area of Bordeaux. It is the estate's white grand vin and carries the Grand Cru Classé de Graves classification, placing it firmly in the more serious, age-worthy side of white Bordeaux.
The 2021 vintage has an interesting background. Domaine de Chevalier describes the growing season as climatically difficult, with spring frost, heavy rain in May and June, and mildew pressure in July. September was more favourable for the white grapes, helping sauvignon blanc and sémillon retain freshness while gaining ripeness, aromatic intensity and refinement. The blend is 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% sémillon, grown on gravelly soils with clay (…)Domaine De Chevalier 2021 Red

Domaine de Chevalier 2021 Rouge is the red Grand Vin of the estate in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. It is a dry red Bordeaux blend and carries the Grand Cru Classé de Graves classification, with cabernet sauvignon at its core and merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc adding their own detail.
The 2021 vintage was far from straightforward. Spring frost, rain in May and June, and mildew pressure in July made careful work essential, while a cool, dry, windy and sunny October helped the red grapes continue their ripening, especially the cabernet sauvignon grown on the estate's gravelly soils. Hand harvesting, several stages of selection and gravity-fed vinification all point to a wine shaped with precision.

The 2021 vintage is very much shaped by cabernet sauvignon. The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc. After a demanding growing season, the cool, dry, sunny and windy conditions in October were especially favourable for the red grapes, particularly cabernet sauvignon on the gravel soils.

Domaine de Chevalier 2021 Rouge Magnum is the red grand vin of Domaine de Chevalier in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. In 1.5-litre magnum format, it feels especially well matched to the nature of the wine: structured, age-worthy and shaped more by precision than by immediate opulence.
The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc completing the cuvée. That cabernet emphasis is central to the 2021 story. The year was demanding, with spring frost, rain and mildew pressure, particularly affecting merlot, yet the later season brought more favourable conditions. A cool, dry, windy and sunny October helped cabernet sauvignon reach maturity. After careful selection in the vineyard and cellar, the wine (…)Domaine De Chevalier 2022 Blanc

Domaine de Chevalier 2022 Blanc is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, produced by a Grand Cru Classé de Graves estate. The 2022 blend is led by sauvignon blanc with sémillon bringing extra breadth and texture, so the wine is built around freshness and precision without feeling narrow.
The vintage was demanding. A dry, warm summer and several heatwaves meant that decisions in the vineyard and cellar mattered greatly. The estate points to its cooler terroir, old vines and the surrounding woodland in Léognan as important elements in preserving balance. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, in several passes according to ripeness, followed by barrel fermentation and 16 to 18 months of ageing, around one third in new oak.

The 2022 blend is 70% sauvignon blanc and 30% sémillon. Harvest took place early, from 22 August to 1 September, after a hot and dry growing season. Domaine de Chevalier 2022 Rouge is the red Grand Vin of the estate in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the core of the blend, supported by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. As a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, this is not simply a powerful Bordeaux; it is a wine built around structure, detail and a very clear sense of place.
The 2022 vintage was hot and dry, with several heatwaves and a very dry summer. According to the estate, old vines and the cooler terroir helped preserve freshness and balance. That contrast is one of the most compelling aspects of this wine: ripe, concentrated fruit from a generous year, held in check by the graphite-like, mineral character associated with Pessac-Léognan.

Cabernet sauvignon shapes the 2022 blend, making up 65%, with merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc adding their part to the structure and detail. The work behind the wine was meticulous: hand harvesting in small crates, sorting in the vineyard, manual bunch selection in the cellar and optical berry sorting after destemming. Maturation lasted around 18 months in barriques, with about 35% new oak.
The 2022 vintage brought heat, dryness and concentration, yet the estate describes a growing season where (…)L'Esprit De Chevalier 2021 White

The 2021 blend is 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sémillon, giving a dry white Bordeaux with freshness, definition and a clear citrus-driven line. The grapes were harvested by hand in small crates in September, with selective picking according to ripeness. Fermentation in barrel and around ten months of ageing on the lees add texture and depth to the wine, while keeping its lively character intact.
