Château La Clotte 2022 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from a very small estate close to the southern entrance of Saint-Émilion. The vineyard covers around four hectares on south-facing limestone slopes with clay-limestone soils. That small scale is central to the wine's identity: this is a site-focused Bordeaux rather than a broad, generic Saint-Émilion.The 2022 vintage is led by Merlot, with Cabernet Franc completing the blend. The vines average 57 years of age. Grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted and received by gravity, followed by traditional vinification in stainless steel vats. The wine then spends 18 months in French oak barrels. Since 2020, the estate has been in conversion to organic farming.

Ch La Clotte is a wine label originating from Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux region of France. The estate is surrounded by well-known neighbors and covers a relatively small, family-run vineyard area. The history of the property dates back to the 19th century, with a tradition of viticulture on a limestone-rich soil that is characteristic of this region. In 2014, the estate became part of the Vauthier family, known from Château Ausone, which brought even more attention to Ch La Clotte within the wine enthusiast circuit. The plantings mainly consist of Merlot, supplemented with Cabernet Franc and, to a lesser extent, Cabernet Sauvignon, resulting primarily in elegant Saint-Émilion wines.
