Ekam Blanc 2021 Magnum is a Spanish white wine from Catalonia, made by Castell d'Encus in the D.O. Costers del Segre. Its personality is closely tied to altitude: the grapes come from high Pyrenean vineyards, where natural freshness is a defining part of the wine.The 2021 vintage is led by Riesling, with a smaller proportion of Albariño. That combination gives the wine its dry, precise and aromatic style. Fermentation took place at low temperature in small stainless-steel tanks with native yeasts, followed by nine months on the lees. A small portion of the grapes was harvested with noble rot, adding length and a subtle glyceric texture.
In magnum, Ekam Blanc takes on a more generous table presence. Only 300 magnums are mentioned for the 2021 vintage, making this a distinctive bottle within the Drankenshop Broekmans selection for those who appreciate white wines with tension, clarity and the ability to develop in bottle.
