Château Chasse Spleen 2020 is a red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc and the grand vin of Château Chasse-Spleen. It sits firmly in a classic Left Bank register, with cabernet sauvignon as the leading grape, supported by merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc. The estate is listed as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, a fitting context for a wine built around structure, dark fruit and measured refinement.
The 2020 growing season began wet, before a fine summer and a period of strong heat towards the end of August and early September. According to the château's vintage notes, the cooler subsoils were especially helpful for the cabernet sauvignon. That detail matters here: gravel soils support the cabernet's framework, while clay-limestone soils bring the (…)Chateau Chasse Spleen 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Chasse-Spleen 2020 in magnum brings together the grand vin of the estate, the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation and the generous 1.5 litre bottle format. It is the main wine of Château Chasse-Spleen, not a second label, and the magnum presentation gives it a natural sense of occasion without needing any extra explanation.
The 2020 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon and merlot, with petit verdot and cabernet franc adding further detail. The growing season began with a wet spring, followed by a fine summer that became warm towards the end of August and early September. On the estate's gravel and sandy gravel soils over clay-limestone, cabernet sauvignon remains an important part of the Médoc identity of the wine.
Stylistically, this (…)Chateau Chasse Spleen 2021

Chateau Chasse Spleen 2021

Château Chasse-Spleen 2021 is the estate's grand vin from Moulis-en-Médoc on Bordeaux's Left Bank. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the largest part of the blend, supported by Merlot and Petit Verdot, giving the wine a clearly Médoc identity: structure, freshness and controlled strength rather than overt richness.
The 2021 vintage was demanding. A wet, mild autumn and winter were followed by April frost, humid flowering conditions and rain returning during harvest. The estate notes that the grapes were brought through to ripeness, with picking running from late September to mid-October. That background helps explain the wine's style: focused, fresh and composed rather than weighty.
Traditional vinification in concrete and stainless-steel vats is (…)Chateau Chasse Spleen 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Chasse-Spleen 2021 is a red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc, on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. This is the estate's grand vin in magnum format, giving the wine a generous table presence while keeping the identity of the 2021 vintage clearly intact.
The vintage was shaped by demanding conditions: wet periods, April frost, a humid flowering and rain again around harvest. Chasse-Spleen still brought the grapes to ripeness, and the result is described in a more classical register rather than a broad, opulent one. Cabernet sauvignon leads the blend, supported by merlot and petit verdot, with the gravelly Grand Poujeaux setting forming an important part of the wine's Médoc character.

Chateau Chasse Spleen 2022
In stock
Château Chasse-Spleen 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc and the grand vin of the château. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, giving the wine a distinctly Left Bank profile.
The 2022 vintage was shaped by warmth and an early harvest, yet the estate describes the vineyard as resilient throughout the season. Importantly, the cellar work did not reveal an overripe aromatic style, but rather a clear fruit expression. That combination gives this wine its appeal: the concentration of a warm year with the structure expected from Moulis-en-Médoc.
The vineyards are planted on gravel and sandy gravel, with clay-limestone and clay over limestone beneath. Fermentation takes place in (…)Chateau Chasse Spleen 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Château Chasse-Spleen 2022 in magnum is a dry red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc, presented in a 1.5-litre bottle that suits the wine's structured, ageworthy nature. The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc.
The 2022 growing season brought a relatively dry winter, several heatwaves from June onwards and an early harvest under good conditions. Chasse-Spleen's vineyards are rooted in gravel over clay-limestone subsoil and clay on limestone. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats, followed by ageing in oak barriques with a proportion of new wood.

L'Héritage de Chasse-Spleen 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Château Chasse-Spleen, an estate closely associated with Moulis-en-Médoc. This cuvée is released as Haut-Médoc, a detail rooted in the estate's history: over time, inheritances, purchases and regrouped parcels gave Château Chasse-Spleen vineyards across different appellation areas.
The name has its own background as well. The wine was formerly known as Ermitage de Chasse-Spleen, before being renamed Héritage de Chasse-Spleen in 2000 to avoid confusion caused by homonymy. That gives the bottle a clear link to the estate's past, rather than making it feel like a purely technical Bordeaux label.
For the 2022 vintage, the blend is 54% merlot, 44% cabernet (…)
