Chateau Peby Faugeres 2022 Demi is the half-bottle format of a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux, released from a vintage with particular meaning for the estate. The 2022 vintage marks the 25th harvest of Château Péby Faugères, and the producer also created a special engraved bottle for this anniversary year.The wine is made entirely from Merlot, sourced from a compact 7.15-hectare vineyard on a south to south-east facing clay-limestone slope in Saint-Emilion. The vineyards are organically farmed, with Agriculture Biologique certification from the 2020 vintage and HVE level 3 certification as well.
In the cellar, the wine saw a 30-day cuvaison in concrete vats, stainless steel vats and barriques used for integral vinification. It then matured for 14 months in French oak barriques, with a significant proportion of new barrels and one-wine barrels. That gives context to the concentrated, structured style described for this 2022 release.

Château Peby Faugères is a winery from the Saint-Émilion region in Bordeaux, France, known for its focus on powerfully structured, Merlot-driven wines. The estate originated when Château Faugères in 1998 allocated a separate plot for the production of its own cuvée, named after the former owner Pierre-Bernard Peby Guisez. The vineyards of Château Peby Faugères cover approximately 7.45 hectares and are fully planted with Merlot, a choice that strongly defines the character of the wine. Since 2005, the property has been owned by Silyan de Martino, who, under the guidance of winemaker Michel Rolland, invested in modernization and quality. The yield is strictly limited to promote concentration in fruit and structure. The wine is usually full and rich, with a deep color and aromas that are typical of ripe Merlot. Partly due to this pronounced style and consistent quality, Château Peby Faugères has achieved good ratings from professional tasters.
