Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion and the estate's grand vin. This Grand Cru Classé comes from the northern part of the appellation, close to Pomerol, and the vintage carries real family significance: the château describes 2022 as the 211th vintage of the Despagne family on the Grand Corbin terroir.The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet franc and a small proportion of cabernet sauvignon. The vineyard has been worked without herbicides, has been organically certified since 2013, and was in biodynamic conversion in 2022. Grapes were hand-harvested in small crates and went through successive sorting, while the cellar work for this vintage was deliberately gentle, more about infusion than forceful extraction.
Ageing took place across new barriques, one-year-old barriques and a smaller proportion of amphorae.
