Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 1982 is a mature red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, produced by the Despagne family estate, whose history goes back to 1812. It sits firmly in the Right Bank tradition, led by Merlot with Cabernet Franc and a very small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The attraction of this bottle lies in its age and development. This is not a young, fruit-driven Saint-Émilion, but a fully mature Grand Cru Classé shaped by bottle ageing, tertiary aromas and softened tannins. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of bottle where vintage, provenance and individual bottle condition all become part of the drinking experience.
Grand Corbin-Despagne is located in the Grand Corbin sector in the northern part of (…)Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne 1982 Magnum (1,5l) Incl. Box

A 1982 Bordeaux magnum is already a bottle with a particular kind of presence, and Château Grand Corbin-Despagne brings that story firmly into Saint-Émilion. This is the Grand Vin of a Grand Cru Classé estate in the northern part of Saint-Émilion, close to Pomerol. The wine follows the classic Right Bank line, with merlot playing the central role alongside cabernet franc and a small proportion of cabernet sauvignon.
The appeal here lies in the meeting of vintage, place and format. The available information describes 1982 as an important, ripe Bordeaux year, while the 1.5-litre magnum format gives this bottle a different rhythm from a standard bottle. At this age, the wine is in an advanced stage of bottle maturity, and the exact condition of any (…)Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne 2021

Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne 2021

Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2021 is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé with a strong sense of continuity behind it. The Despagne family has been connected with this terroir since 1812, and the estate describes the 2021 release as its 210th vintage at Grand Corbin. That gives the wine a clear identity: the grand vin of a long-established estate in the northern part of Saint-Émilion, close to Pomerol.
The blend is led by merlot, supported by a significant share of cabernet franc and a small amount of cabernet sauvignon. The available tasting notes place this 2021 vintage more on freshness, tension and aromatic precision than on the sheer ripeness and power associated with warmer years. Dark fruit, floral notes, spice and graphite-like minerality (…)Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2021 Demi is the estate's Grand Vin in a 37.5 cl half bottle. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in a smaller format, useful when a full bottle is more than the occasion requires.
Grand Corbin-Despagne has a long family story behind it. The Despagne family has been established on the Grand Corbin terroir since 1812, and the 2021 vintage was their 210th harvest there. The vineyard lies in the northern part of Saint-Émilion, close to Pomerol, and the blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet franc and a small proportion of cabernet sauvignon.
The 2021 vintage is presented in the available notes as a fresher, more precise expression rather than a particularly (…)Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne 2022

Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2022 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion and the estate's grand vin. This Grand Cru Classé comes from the northern part of the appellation, close to Pomerol, and the vintage carries real family significance: the château describes 2022 as the 211th vintage of the Despagne family on the Grand Corbin terroir.
The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet franc and a small proportion of cabernet sauvignon. The vineyard has been worked without herbicides, has been organically certified since 2013, and was in biodynamic conversion in 2022.
