La Dame de Montrose 2022 is the second wine of Château Montrose in Saint-Estèphe, made from grapes grown in the same vineyard as the Grand Vin. That is important to understand the bottle: it is not a simple lighter Bordeaux, but a wine that carries the Montrose identity in a form that is generally more approachable earlier.For the 2022 vintage, Merlot takes the lead with 71% of the blend, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. That Merlot presence shapes the more open side of La Dame de Montrose, while the wine keeps the firm Saint-Estèphe structure mentioned across the tasting descriptions. The growing season was warm and dry, with harvest taking place from 2 to 22 September. Plot-by-plot selection, adapted extraction and around twelve months in French oak, about one third new, add depth without taking away the wine's fresh line.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to present to customers who want pedigree, structure and ageing potential, but in a cuvée that does not demand the same patience as the Grand Vin. With only the last bottles remaining, it is also a release to consider while it is still on the shelf.
Serve it slightly cool, around 15 to 16 °C, to keep the fruit and aromatic lift in focus. Young bottles may benefit from air. It sits naturally with lamb, beef, duck, game, roasted or grilled dishes, mushrooms, firm fish such as tuna, pasta and cheese.

About CH MONTROSE
Château Montrose is a respected winery from the Bordeaux region in France, located in the appellation of Saint-Estèphe, which is part of the famous Médoc area on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate was established in the early 19th century and gradually grew to become one of the important names in the region. Château Montrose has held the classification of Deuxième Cru Classé since 1855, meaning Second Grand Cru Classe, which indicates considerable historical reputation and quality status in the history of Bordeaux wine. The vineyard covers approximately 95 hectares and is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, supplemented with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Its location close to the river offers a favorable microclimate for grape ripening.
