Château Croix Mouton 2022 is a red Bordeaux Supérieur from France with Merlot firmly at its centre. It comes from Château Croix-Mouton in Lugon-et-l'Île-du-Carnay, on the right-bank side of Bordeaux, where clay and loam soils near the Dordogne and the Fronsadais shape the setting of the wine. The result is recognisably Bordeaux, yet presented in a fruit-led, approachable style.The 2022 blend is built around 80% Merlot, supported by other Bordeaux varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Following a particularly warm, dry summer, the estate used careful grape sorting and a vinification approach based on limited extraction and low temperature to preserve the fruit. That explains much of the wine's personality: ripe and concentrated, but not severe.
