Château Croix de Labrie 2022 Demi is the estate's main wine from Saint-Émilion, bottled here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. That makes it a very useful way to open a serious Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle.The wine comes from a small Saint-Émilion property working with individual micro-plots, including clay-limestone soils, gravel, blue clay and iron-rich ground. The 2022 blend is led by Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are farmed organically, with biodynamic and agroforestry practices also mentioned by the producer.
The 2022 vintage was warm and very sunny, yet the producer highlights ripe seeds, balance between alcohol and pH, and preserved aromatic freshness. Maturation took place partly in 225-litre barrels and partly in larger wooden vessels, adding structure and savoury depth around the fruit.
