Château Bellefont-Belcier 2021 is the estate's grand vin, a red Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé from Bordeaux. It sits firmly in the Right Bank tradition, led by merlot, with cabernet franc and a small proportion of cabernet sauvignon completing the blend.The 2021 vintage in Saint-Émilion was cooler and more demanding than the warmer years before it. For Bellefont-Belcier, that means a wine shaped less by sheer power and more by freshness, aromatic precision and texture. The fruit comes from limestone plateau parcels, south-facing clay-limestone slopes and plots at the foot of the slope, with parcel-by-parcel vinification and gentle extraction.
Ageing took place across new barriques, used barriques and oval wooden foudres. The result is a wine where oak is present in a discreet way, while fruit definition and mineral tension remain at the centre. About CH BELLEFONT BELCIER
Château Bellefont-Belcier is a French winery located in the prestigious Saint-Émilion region in Bordeaux. The estate has a long history dating back to the nineteenth century and covers a vineyard of about 13 hectares on the slopes around Saint-Laurent-des-Combes. The vineyards include traditional Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which together produce elegant red wines with a characteristically balanced profile. Due to the specific location on the limestone and clay soils of the plateau, the château has excellent terroir characteristics, which can be tasted in the depth of the wines.
