The Viñedo Chadwick 2009 2010 2011 Vertical Library Edition is a three-bottle set built around one idea: tasting the same Puente Alto vineyard across three consecutive vintages. It contains one 75 cl bottle each of Viñedo Chadwick 2009, 2010 and 2011, all red wines from Chile's Maipo Valley at the foot of the Andes.

The wines come from the Viñedo Chadwick vineyard, planted in 1992 on the former polo field of Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz. Its old alluvial Maipo river terraces, stony soils and Andean influence help shape wines with colour, freshness, acidity and tannic structure. In this set, those site characteristics are seen through three different growing seasons.

The 2009 reflects a warmer year, with a riper and more powerful expression. The 2010 comes from a cooler, steadier season and is described with dark fruit, structure and clear oak influence. The 2011, from a cooler and longer season, is more precise and tense, with a lower proportion of new barrels to preserve the character of the vintage. Each wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and matured for 22 months in French oak.

The 2010 brings dark cherry, cassis, blueberry, plum, chocolate, liquorice, lavender, tobacco, hazelnut, pencil shavings and mineral notes. It is full and structured, with firm tannins and a clear oak presence.

The 2011 adds a fresher line to the set, showing red fruit, cassis, blueberry, black pepper, mint, sage, coffee, toasted wood and mineral tones. Its tannins are finer and silkier, with balanced acidity, tension and length.
