Château Canon La Gaffelière 2020 Magnum is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, presented in a 1.5-litre bottle. The magnum format does not change the identity of the wine, but it does give this vintage a more generous presence at the table and an appealing sense of longevity.The estate lies on the southern side of the medieval village of Saint-Émilion, with vineyards on the pied de côte. For the 2020 vintage, the blend is 55% merlot, 30% cabernet franc and 15% cabernet sauvignon. That relatively strong cabernet component is an important part of the château's identity, supported by warm, well-draining clay-limestone and clay-sand soils.
The vineyard is organically certified. The wine was vinified in wooden vats over 32 days, with extraction by pneumatic pigeage, then aged for 16 months on the lees in oak barrels, 50% of them new. A low yield of 32.5 hl/ha and harvest dates in the second half of September frame the 2020 as a structured wine that still retains freshness and tension.

Château Canon La Gaffelière is a French winery located in the renowned appellation of Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux.
