Product info about Chateau Suduiraut 2020 Magnum (1,5l)
Château Suduiraut 2020 Magnum is a Sauternes with real presence: the estate's Grand Vin, bottled in 1.5 litres, from one of Bordeaux's great sweet wine appellations. Suduiraut is a Premier Cru Classé from the 1855 classification for Sauternes and Barsac, and the 2020 vintage was made entirely from Sémillon grown on the estate's finest terroirs in Preignac.The year demanded patience and careful selection. After a very wet autumn and winter, early vine growth, warm summer conditions and cool nights, harvest ran from 16 September to 5 November in four selective passes through the vineyard. Only the lots with the desired concentration and noble rot were chosen for the Grand Vin, with a very low final yield of 8.5 hl/ha.
Maturation lasted 16 to 20 months in barrel, half new and half one-year-old. The result is a wine where sweetness is only part of the story; ripe fruit, freshness, spice and Sauternes depth all have their place. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would point out to someone looking for a serious liquoreux Bordeaux with clear vintage identity.
The magnum format makes it especially fitting for the table, from rich savoury dishes and blue cheeses to fruit- and nut-based desserts. Only the last bottles of this release remain.

About SUDUIRAUT
Suduiraut is a renowned winery from the Sauternes region in Bordeaux, France, that has dedicated itself for centuries to the production of high-quality dessert wines. The estate, fully named Château Suduiraut, is located in the heart of Sauternes, close to the famous Château d´Yquem. The vineyards of Suduiraut cover approximately 92 hectares, where especially Sëmillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are cultivated. In autumn, unique climatic conditions can result in the grapes being affected by the so-called noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), which is essential for the character of Sauternes wines: concentrated, elegantly sweet, and rich in aromas of honey, apricot, and dried fruit. Suduiraut has a long history, going back to the 16th century, and the château has been owned by AXA Millësimes since 1992, a company focused on prominent wineries. The wines of Suduiraut are internationally renowned for their balance between intense sweetness, refined acids, and a long, complex finish. In addition to the Grand Vin, the winery also produces a second wine, Castelnau de Suduiraut, and occasionally small special cuvées. Suduiraut is often associated with wine tradition in Bordeaux and is considered a constant value in the world of noble sweet wines.
