Sena 2020 shows a deep garnet to purple-tinged colour. The aromatic and flavour profile centres on red and dark fruit: cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, black cherry, plum, blackberry and redcurrant. Around that fruit come floral notes of violet and rose petal, followed by savoury and spicy details of dill, rosemary, cinnamon, white pepper, tobacco, olive, balsamic, cedar and a graphite-like mineral tone.On the palate it is concentrated while retaining clear freshness. The acidity is lively, the tannins are fine-grained, dense and polished, and the oak influence is described as well integrated. The finish is long, with ripe fruit, spice and structure carrying through.

Product info about Sena 2020
Sena 2020 is a Chilean red wine from the Aconcagua Valley, shaped in a Bordeaux-inspired style but with a clear Chilean signature. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Malbec, Carmenere and Petit Verdot, with the Carmenere adding a distinctive sense of origin.The wine comes from the Seña Hillside Vineyard, a biodynamically farmed site around 40 to 41 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. The 2020 vintage was warm and early, yet cooler Pacific influences in February helped preserve acidity and aromatic detail according to the producer. That gives the vintage its particular tension: ripe, concentrated and powerful, but still carried by freshness.
After hand harvesting and selection, the wine matured for 22 months, mainly in French oak barrels with a smaller proportion in foudres. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we see as a serious Chilean red for those who appreciate structure, depth and ageing potential. The strong critical reception, including 98 points from James Suckling and 97 points from Wine Advocate, Falstaff and Descorchados, adds further context to the standing of Sena 2020.
With only the last bottles remaining, this vintage is worth considering carefully: it can be kept for further bottle development, yet it is also intended for drinking from the mid-2020s onward with dishes such as steak or slow-cooked stews.
