Clos Haut Peyraguey 2019 is a white sweet wine from Sauternes in Bordeaux, produced by Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey, a Premier Cru Classé de Sauternes from the 1855 classification. The estate is located in Bommes, on the highest part of the commune's plateau and opposite Château d'Yquem, placing this wine firmly within one of the most respected settings for classic Sauternes.The 2019 vintage is made from 95% sémillon and 5% sauvignon blanc. The vineyards lie close to the Ciron, where morning mist helps encourage the development of noble rot. Grapes are harvested by hand in several passes, selecting only fruit that has reached the right level of ripeness and concentration. Fermentation and ageing in barriques, with a measured proportion of new oak, support the wine's richness without taking attention away from its Sauternes identity.
