Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard Mundus Bacillus Terrae Malbec 2018 is a red wine built around one very specific place. It comes from the Mundus Bacillus Terrae parcel within Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary, Tupungato Alto, in Mendoza's Uco Valley. At around 1,390 metres above sea level and covering roughly 1.4 hectares, this is a tightly focused single-parcel Malbec rather than a broad regional interpretation.The name refers to soil bacteria and rhizobacteria in the parcel, a detail that says a great deal about Catena Zapata's approach to Adrianna Vineyard. The producer looks at differences in soil, altitude and microclimate as defining elements of the wine.
