About MACKMYRA
The first idea to produce a Swedish whisky of their own arose in 1998. Two years later, the first small cask was filled with spirit and in 2002 the first whisky was sold. The original distillery closed its doors in 2011, when a new, ultra-modern distillery was opened in Gavle, a town 100km north of Stockholm. In this distillery, gravity is used to make the production process more efficient. Mackmyra has a wide range of single malt whisky, but also produces, for example, whisky liqueur.
