About TAITTINGER
Taittinger is a well-known name from the Champagne region in France and focuses entirely on the production of sparkling wines from the Champagne area. The house was officially established as a family business in 1932 by Pierre Taittinger, although the estate itself has deeper historical roots that even go back to the 18th century. Taittinger distinguishes itself partly because it is one of the few large champagne houses still truly owned by the founding family. The champagnes of Taittinger are produced in Reims, located within the AOC Champagne. An important characteristic of Taittinger is the relatively high percentage of Chardonnay used in many of their blended champagnes. This generally gives their style a fresh, elegant, and refined signature, which is valued by enthusiasts worldwide. The house owns substantial vineyards, including some famous plots, and also works with grapes from selected growers. The assortment ranges from fresh non-vintage brut to very prestigious cuvees such as Comtes de Champagne, which are released only in outstanding years.
