Flavour notes

No detailed aroma or flavour notes are provided in the available information. The clearest guide is the style: a Gosset Extra Brut Champagne, dry in approach, with 12% alcohol. Without specific tasting notes, it would not be right to add fruit, brioche or ageing descriptors; the focus here remains on its dry Champagne character.

Product info about Gosset Extra Brut

Gosset Extra Brut is a Champagne built around a clear stylistic idea: dryness, precision and restraint. The name already tells you where it sits. Extra Brut points to a drier expression, where sweetness does not take the lead and the Champagne itself remains central.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this bottle in front of customers looking specifically for a French Champagne with a firmer, drier profile. At 12% alcohol, it stays within the familiar Champagne frame, while the Extra Brut character gives it its main point of distinction.

About GOSSET

Gosset is one of the oldest wineries in the Champagne region of France, with a history dating back to 1584. The origin of the house lies in Aÿ, a small town in the heart of champagne production, where Pierre Gosset was a winemaker and mayor. Initially, Gosset mainly produced still wines from pinot noir and chardonnay from the vineyards of the region, a tradition that continued until the 18th century, when sparkling champagne started to gain in popularity. Since then, the house has fully dedicated itself to making champagne, being known for deliberately avoiding malolactic fermentation. As a result, the champagnes retain their fresh, lively acidity and a distinctive, pure style. Gosset works exclusively with grapes from premier cru and grand cru vineyards, and uses a relatively high proportion of reserve wine in its blends. The range varies from the classic dry Brut Excellence to more characterful cuvées such as Grand Rosé and Grand Millésime. The house is now owned by the Cointreau family, but remains committed to traditional values and production methods, making it a respected player in the world of champagne.
