Chateau Canon Pecresse 2022

Chateau Canon Pecresse 2022 is a red wine from Fronsac with a clear Right Bank Bordeaux identity. Merlot leads the blend, supported by cabernet franc, and the fruit comes from a small estate in Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac. Its vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils on a limestone plateau, an element often linked to the character of Canon-Fronsac.
There is more to this vintage than the blend alone. The estate has been organically certified since January 2020, and the 2022 was made from hand-harvested grapes, with fermentation at moderate temperature and gentle extraction. Ageing took place partly in French oak and partly in concrete, giving the wine structure while keeping a fresh, mineral thread.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this bottle as a Fronsac with (…)Chateau Dalem 2022

Chateau Dalem 2022

Château Dalem 2022 is the grand vin of this historic Fronsac estate on Bordeaux's Right Bank. The wine comes from the château's own vineyards, planted across clay-limestone plateaus and slopes, with vines averaging around 40 years of age. For this vintage the blend is 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc, a composition that fits the ripe dark-fruited and structured profile described in the tasting notes.
At Château Dalem, 2022 was a warm, sunny year, with early flowering and a summer the producer describes as Mediterranean in character. Yields were lower than expected, yet the grapes were described as homogeneous, concentrated and supported by ripe tannins with enough freshness to hold the wine together. The fruit was harvested by hand, carefully sorted, and (…)Chateau De Carles 2022

Chateau De Carles 2022
In stock
Château de Carles 2022 is the estate wine of Château de Carles in Fronsac, on Bordeaux's Right Bank. For this vintage it is made from 100% Merlot, and it should be understood as the château's own main cuvée rather than the separate Haut-Carles bottling.
Its setting explains much of the wine's personality. The vineyards are planted on clay and clay-limestone soils over molasse du Fronsadais, with Merlot playing the leading role at the estate. Parcels are vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by ageing partly in stainless steel and French oak barrels. The result is a dry red Fronsac with ripe fruit, structure and the measured Bordeaux feel that suits the appellation.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we (…)Chateau De Carles 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau De Carles 2022 in magnum is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux's right bank, built around a clear Merlot core. This is the historic cuvée of Château de Carles, separate from the domaine's higher-positioned Haut-Carles, and its appeal lies in a traditional but fruit-focused style with supple tannins and a discreet touch of oak.
The grapes come from the estate's vineyards in Fronsac, planted on clay and clay-limestone soils. The domaine works with hand harvesting and grape selection, temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and maturation in French oak barrels. For the 2022 vintage, the wine is described as juicy and structured, with more freshness and tension than some earlier years, supported by fine tannins.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this (…)Chateau De Carlmagnus 2020

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2020

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2020 is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux, firmly in the Right Bank style, led by merlot with cabernet franc playing a supporting role. Its origin in Fronsac matters here: the vineyards are rooted in clay-limestone soils, with a limestone plateau forming an important part of the local terroir.
The 2020 vintage is also presented as Imagine, with a label painted by the owner. That personal touch sits well with the way the wine is made. The grapes are selected and vinified without crushing to help preserve the fruit, followed by 12 to 14 months of ageing in barriques with a proportion of new oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to show to customers who want depth and structure without losing the fruit. Several (…)Chateau De Carlmagnus 2021

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2021

Château de Carlmagnus 2021 is a dry red wine from Fronsac on Bordeaux's Right Bank. It is led by Merlot with Cabernet Franc in support, grown on the clay-limestone soils and limestone plateaus associated with the estate.
The wine comes from Arnaud Roux-Oulié, the third generation of the Roux-Oulié winegrowing family and also an artist. That personal side is reflected in the 2021 Tokyo vintage labelling mentioned for this release. The name Carlmagnus refers to Charlemagne and his historical presence around Fronsac, while the wine itself remains firmly rooted in its appellation: structured, fruit-driven and shaped by its Bordeaux origin.
The 2021 vintage required careful selection. A demanding spring brought strong pressure in the vineyard, (…)Chateau De Carlmagnus 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2021 Magnum is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux in a generous 1.5-litre bottle. It is a dry French wine built mainly around Merlot, with Cabernet Franc adding support. The setting matters here: clay-limestone soils and limestone plateaus in Fronsac, where the producer aims to keep a clear line between ripe fruit and freshness.
The 2021 vintage is described by the estate as a more classical Bordeaux year. A demanding spring was followed by stable sunny weather in September, after which a specific selection was made for Carlmagnus. The winemaking is careful rather than heavy-handed: strict grape selection, vinification without crushing to preserve the fruit, daily remontage and pigeage, then around 12 to 14 months in oak barrels with a moderate share of new (…)Chateau De Carlmagnus 2022

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2022 is a dry red Bordeaux from Fronsac on the Right Bank. Merlot takes the lead in the blend, supported by Cabernet Franc, with fruit grown on clay-limestone soils and limestone plateaus. That background comes through in the wine's ripe fruit, firm structure and chalky mineral line.
The 2022 vintage also has a distinctive presentation: the License to Taste label, created to mark the 60th anniversary of the first James Bond film. Château Carlmagnus gives each vintage its own illustrated theme, so this release combines classic Fronsac substance with a playful visual identity.
In the cellar, the approach was deliberately gentle. The grapes were carefully sorted, vinified without crushing and extracted softly to preserve fruit (…)Chateau De Carlmagnus 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau De Carlmagnus 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Château de Carlmagnus 2022 Magnum is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux with a clearly right-bank composition: merlot forms the heart of the blend, supported by cabernet franc. The wine comes from around 15 hectares of vineyard on clay-limestone soils over a limestone plateau, giving context to its dry, structured style.
The 2022 vintage was made with strict grape selection and gentle extraction, with vinification in wooden vats without crushing to help preserve the fruit. Maturation involved wooden vats, cement tanks and one-year-old barriques, aiming to keep the fruit and mineral expression of the terroir in focus.
In magnum, the 1.5-litre bottle gives this Fronsac extra presence when opened at the table. The vintage also carries the special License to Taste (…)Chateau Fontenil 2022

Chateau Fontenil 2022

Château Fontenil 2022 is a dry red wine from Fronsac on Bordeaux's Right Bank. The estate in Saillans has been linked to Dany and Michel Rolland since the 1986 vintage, and its identity is firmly centred on Merlot. The vines grow on south-facing clay-limestone slopes overlooking the Isle and Libourne, a setting that fits the ripe, dark-fruited style described for this wine.
The 2022 vintage carries a particular story. Yields were low after June hail and dry conditions, with smaller berries and less juice bringing natural concentration. In the same year, Le Défi de Fontenil was not produced, so fruit that might otherwise have gone into that cuvée became part of the regular Château Fontenil.
Work in the cellar is careful and measured: (…)Chateau La Dauphine 2022

Château La Dauphine 2022 is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux's right bank, made by Château de La Dauphine. The blend is led by merlot, at 80%, with 20% cabernet franc, from organically certified vineyards that are also managed according to biodynamic principles.
The 2022 vintage was warm and sunny, yet the estate's limestone and clay-limestone soils played an important part in preserving freshness and moisture during the dry conditions. That gives the wine its combination of ripe, generous fruit and a more precise, chalky line underneath.
Harvesting took place plot by plot in September, followed by careful vinification with a 25-day maceration. The wine was then matured for 12 months, lot by lot, in barriques, amphorae and large wooden vats. At (…)Chateau Vrai Canon Bouche 2020

Chateau Vrai Canon Bouche 2020

Chateau Vrai Canon Bouche 2020 is a red Bordeaux from Fronsac with a clear Right Bank feel. Built on merlot and cabernet franc, it comes from the Canon hill, where limestone and decarbonated clay shape the style of the wine. That background matters in the glass: the fruit is ripe and generous, yet the wine keeps a fresh, mineral line.
The winemaking is carefully handled rather than overly demonstrative. The grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, gently fermented with native yeasts and macerated for around 15 to 20 days. Ageing takes place for 12 months in barriques, half new and half once-used, giving the wine structure and polish while keeping the focus on fruit and terroir.

Haut-Carles 2022

Haut-Carles 2022 is the upper cuvée from Château de Carles in Fronsac, on Bordeaux's right bank. For this vintage, the wine is listed as 100% merlot, selected from parcels planted on clay and clay-limestone soils. That sets the tone clearly: a concentrated Fronsac with ripe dark fruit, depth and a firm sense of structure.
The estate works under HVE3-certified responsible viticulture, with hand harvesting and careful grape selection after picking. In the cellar, the same attention continues through parcel-by-parcel vinification, gravity handling and 16 to 18 months of ageing in French oak barriques, half of them new. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a serious, age-worthy Bordeaux rather than a bottle to rush.
