Château de Carlmagnus 2022 Magnum is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux with a clearly right-bank composition: merlot forms the heart of the blend, supported by cabernet franc. The wine comes from around 15 hectares of vineyard on clay-limestone soils over a limestone plateau, giving context to its dry, structured style.The 2022 vintage was made with strict grape selection and gentle extraction, with vinification in wooden vats without crushing to help preserve the fruit. Maturation involved wooden vats, cement tanks and one-year-old barriques, aiming to keep the fruit and mineral expression of the terroir in focus.
In magnum, the 1.5-litre bottle gives this Fronsac extra presence when opened at the table. The vintage also carries the special License to Taste label, a reference to James Bond and the 60th anniversary of the first Bond film.
