Product info about Chateau La Dauphine 2022
Château La Dauphine 2022 is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux's right bank, made by Château de La Dauphine. The blend is led by merlot, at 80%, with 20% cabernet franc, from organically certified vineyards that are also managed according to biodynamic principles.The 2022 vintage was warm and sunny, yet the estate's limestone and clay-limestone soils played an important part in preserving freshness and moisture during the dry conditions. That gives the wine its combination of ripe, generous fruit and a more precise, chalky line underneath.
Harvesting took place plot by plot in September, followed by careful vinification with a 25-day maceration. The wine was then matured for 12 months, lot by lot, in barriques, amphorae and large wooden vats. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Fronsac for Bordeaux drinkers who enjoy depth, ripe fruit and cellar potential, while still wanting freshness and limestone tension. With only the last bottles remaining, it is a fine bottle to put away or to open thoughtfully with enough air.
