Prazo de Roriz 2022 is a red Douro wine shaped by the partnership between Prats and Symington. It carries the identity of Quinta de Roriz, yet it is made in a style that can be enjoyed relatively young, with structure and freshness kept in careful balance.The wine is produced from fruit grown at Quinta de Roriz and Quinta da Perdiz, using classic Douro varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, alongside mixed old-vine plantings. The grapes are hand harvested and carefully selected before fermentation in stainless steel, with gentle extraction to keep the wine focused and approachable.
The 2022 vintage in the Douro was shaped by heat and drought, followed by cooler September conditions that helped the grapes reach a more balanced ripeness. Six months in 400-litre French oak barrels add polish and structure without pushing the wine into an overtly oaky direction.
