It is the château's second red wine, closely linked to the estate's classic Bordeaux identity while standing as a wine in its own right.The name refers to the old oak trees on the property. The 2015 blend is built on merlot and cabernet sauvignon, with a small addition of malbec. About CH BOUSCAUT
Château Bouscaut is a French winery located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Bordeaux region, south of the city of Bordeaux. The estate has a history dating back to the early 19th century and today covers approximately 47 hectares of vineyard. Both red and white wines are produced here, using the characteristic Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec for red, and Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and a small proportion of Muscadelle for white. Château Bouscaut is especially known for its elegant and balanced wines, which are usually aged in oak, developing both complexity and aging potential. The winery holds the status of Grand Cru Classé de Graves, awarded during the 1953 classification for both red and white wines, something granted to only a handful of châteaux in this region. In recent decades, there has been active investment in quality and sustainability, both in the vineyards and in the cellar. The Lurton family, who took over management in 1992, continues this tradition with much attention to terroir and craftsmanship, resulting in wines that express the distinctive characteristics of the Pessac-Léognan region.
