Amaras Reserva Especial Cenizo is a handmade mezcal from Durango, Mexico, produced from 100% natural Cenizo agave, A. Durangensis. The agave is grown for 9 to 15 years before harvest, giving it time to develop the aromatic depth shaped by the terroir of the region.Its character is closely tied to the way it is made. The agave is cooked in a conical stone oven using mezquite and huizache wood, bringing a distinctive smoky edge. Natural fermentation takes place in open pine vats before double distillation in a copper still with a wooden top.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of mezcal we like to introduce to customers who want something expressive, earthy and structured, with smoke as part of the story rather than the whole story. Bottled at 46%, it has enough strength to carry its roasted, dark and mineral notes with clarity. As these are the last bottles, it is also gradually disappearing from our selection.

The company was born out of a love for the sun, the land, and the people who work on it, but above all, a love for Mexico and its national plant: the Agave.
