Petit-Figeac 2022 is the second wine of Château-Figeac in Saint-Émilion, presented here in the half-bottle format of 37.5 cl. That makes it a particularly appealing choice when you want to open a serious Bordeaux without committing to a full bottle.It is not a separate parcel wine. Petit-Figeac is selected during the blending process, at the same time as the grand vin of Château-Figeac. All grapes come from the estate, and the 2022 blend is 58% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 21% Cabernet Sauvignon. That significant presence of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon is an important part of the Figeac identity within Saint-Émilion.
The 2022 vintage was warm and dry, with an early harvest running from 1 to 26 September. The estate worked to preserve freshness in the fruit and soils despite the conditions. The wine was aged in oak barriques, 30% of them new. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this bottle as a very fine way to discover the Château-Figeac signature in a smaller, more flexible format.
