Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2022 is the second wine of Château Clerc Milon in Pauillac, presented here in a 1.5-litre magnum. It has the substance and origin one expects from a serious Left Bank Bordeaux, while remaining a more approachable interpretation than the estate's grand vin.It comes from the same terroirs as Château Clerc Milon, a Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. The 2022 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by a substantial proportion of Merlot, with Cabernet Franc, Carmenère and Petit Verdot in smaller roles. That touch of Carmenère is part of the estate's identity and adds another layer to the composition.
The 2022 vintage brought plenty of sunshine, dry conditions and small, concentrated berries, with timely rainfall helping the grapes develop evenly.
