Clos Floridene Blanc 2022 in magnum is a dry white Graves from Bordeaux, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The wine comes from vineyards around Pujols-sur-Ciron and Illats, where limestone, clayey sand, iron oxide, gravel and clay help shape a white wine with freshness, structure and a clear mineral line.The estate was built from 1982 onwards by Denis and Florence Dubourdieu, and the name Clos Floridene brings their first names together. That background matters here, as Denis Dubourdieu was closely associated with the reputation of dry white Bordeaux. The 2022 vintage reflects that approach: precise, fresh, textured and capable of being enjoyed young while still having the structure for further bottle ageing.
Hand harvesting at aromatic ripeness, barrel fermentation, eight months on the lees and regular bâtonnage all contribute to the wine's feel and depth. The oak influence is present as nuance rather than dominance, allowing the citrus, white fruit and mineral tension to remain central. In magnum, it has the presence for a refined dinner table, especially with delicate fish, shellfish or prawn risotto.

About CLOS FLORIDENE
Clos Floridene is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region of France, located in the southern part of the Graves appellation. The estate was founded in the 1980s by Professor Denis Dubourdieu and his wife Florence, with the name being composed of parts of their first names. Clos Floridene is known for both white and red Bordeaux wines that are mainly made from grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Merlot. One of the distinguishing features of the white wine is the relatively high proportion of Semillon, which gives a characteristic style profile with freshness, aromatic intensity and a certain depth. The vineyards are planted on typical limestone and gravelly soils, which adds to the minerality in the wines. Modern vinification techniques are used and there is great attention to detail, partly thanks to Denis Dubourdieu's background as a respected oenologist. In addition to a focus on quality, the production remains relatively modest, making the wines popular among lovers of classic Bordeaux with a distinctive character. Clos Floridene is part of the simultaneously managed family businesses of Dubourdieu, who within Bordeaux are known for their knowledge and care for authentic regional expression.
