Clos Floridene Blanc 2020 is a dry white Graves from Bordeaux, made as a classic white Bordeaux blend with sauvignon blanc as the leading variety, supported by sémillon and a small touch of muscadelle. It comes from Clos Floridene near Pujols-sur-Ciron, the estate developed from 1982 onwards by Denis and Florence Dubourdieu. Even the name carries that personal origin, combining elements of their first names.
The appeal of this wine lies in the way freshness and structure meet. Sauvignon blanc gives the wine its citrus-driven aromatic lift, while sémillon adds roundness and substance. Clos Floridene Blanc 2021 is a dry white Graves from Bordeaux, made by Denis Dubourdieu Domaines. The estate in Pujols-sur-Ciron was built up from 1982 by Denis and Florence Dubourdieu, and the name Clos Floridene itself comes from their first names. In the 2021 vintage, the blend is led by Sauvignon Blanc at 75%, with Sémillon making up the remaining 25%.
Its interest lies in the way freshness is given shape and texture. The white vineyards are associated with limestone-rich soils, the grapes are hand harvested, and the juice is handled carefully under protection from oxidation. Fermentation takes place in barriques, followed by 8 months on the lees with regular bâtonnage. Clos Floridene Blanc 2022 is a dry white Graves from Bordeaux, made at the Pujols-sur-Ciron estate built up since 1982 by Denis and Florence Dubourdieu. The name Floridene comes from Florence and Denis, giving the wine a personal link to the people behind the domaine.
For this vintage, the blend is 57% Sauvignon Blanc and 43% Sémillon. Much of the vineyard sits on red, iron-rich clayey sand over limestone, with a smaller section on a clay and gravel ridge in Illats. That origin helps explain the wine's firm, fresh and mineral line, especially in a warm Bordeaux vintage such as 2022.
