Château Clément Pichon 2022 in magnum is a red Haut-Médoc with a clear Bordeaux signature, yet with a slightly different emphasis from many more Cabernet-led Médoc wines. The blend is Merlot-driven, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc.The estate is located in Parempuyre, in the southern Médoc. Its vineyards are described as having sandy soils, dry gravel and clay in the subsoil. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with measured extraction to keep fruit and structure in balance. Château Clëment Pichon is a winery from the Haut-Mëdoc region, north of Bordeaux in France. The estate has a history dating back to the 17th century, although the current castle in neo-Renaissance style dates from the 19th century. The vineyards of Château Clëment Pichon are located on the left bank of the Gironde river and benefit from the characteristic, gravel-rich soil typical of the Haut-Mëdoc. The estate covers an area of approximately 25 hectares, mainly cultivating classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine style is usually characterized by a fine balance between fruit, power and freshness, with Merlot often playing an important role in the blends. Château Clëment Pichon is classified as Cru Bourgeois, a label for high-quality wines from the Médoc outside the famous 1855 classification.
