Château Branaire-Ducru 2022 Demi is the estate's grand vin in a 37.5 cl half bottle. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same Saint-Julien wine in a smaller format, well suited to moments when opening a full bottle of Bordeaux is more than you need.Branaire-Ducru is a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, situated in Saint-Julien in the Médoc. The 2022 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completing the composition. The fruit comes from the château's own parcels within the appellation, on the gravelly, well-draining soils associated with this part of Bordeaux.
The 2022 growing season brought high summer temperatures and marked water stress, yet the château notes that the grapes retained notable freshness. It was also the first vintage made in Branaire-Ducru's new fully gravity-fed vat room, allowing separate vinification by parcel and grape quality before the final blend was assembled.

Château Branaire-Ducru is a well-known winery from the French Bordeaux region, more specifically from the Saint-Julien appellation in the Médoc. The winery traces its roots back to the 17th century and has been classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé since 1855, which places it in the fourth category of classified Bordeaux wines within the famous classification of that year. The vineyards cover about 60 hectares and are situated on well-drained gravel soils, which is favorable for the ripening of the grapes. Château Branaire-Ducru focuses strongly on the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, typical for the region. The house style is generally characterized by elegant structure, balance, and a refined expression of fruit, without overly heavy extraction. Under the leadership of the Maroteaux family, who have managed the château since the late 1980s, there has been continuous investment in quality and the modernization of techniques, with respect for tradition.
