Blason de L'Evangile 2022 is the second wine of Château L'Evangile in Pomerol, Bordeaux. It carries a clear connection to the estate, yet it is made in a more supple, fruit-driven style intended to be approachable earlier than the Grand Vin. For this vintage, the blend is 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc, with 14% alcohol.The 2022 growing season was early and dry, with several heat waves. Selection played an important role: grapes from different exposures were harvested at different moments, while the Cabernet Franc was picked early to help preserve freshness in the final blend. In the cellar, the same careful tone continued, with cold pre-fermentation maceration, temperature-controlled concrete vats and gentle extraction to keep the tannins in check.
Ageing lasted around 16 months, with 80% of the wine in one-year-old French oak barrels and 20% in vats. The result is a Pomerol shaped by ripe Merlot fruit, supported by the fresher, spicier edge of Cabernet Franc, without trying to imitate the longer ageing profile of Château L'Evangile itself.

Château L'Evangile is a French winery located in the famous appellation of Pomerol, part of the Bordeaux region. The estate, situated on the right bank of the Gironde river, enjoys great renown in the wine world for its elegant and deep red wines, mainly made from Merlot, often supplemented with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc. Château L'Evangile has a history dating back to the 18th century and is one of the established names of Pomerol, despite the fact that the region itself has no formal classification system like other parts of Bordeaux. The winery has been owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1990, who are known for their meticulous viticulture and respect for tradition.
