Château Bellevue 2022 is a red dry wine from Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux, classified as Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé. The vintage is made entirely from Merlot, drawn from a compact vineyard of around 3 hectares on the slopes near Saint-Émilion.Its identity is closely tied to that small piece of land. The vines, averaging around 40 years old, grow on clay-limestone soils with eastern, southern and south-western exposures. Vineyard work is described as traditional, with hand harvesting, parcel selection, green harvesting and some soil work carried out with horses. The estate also holds HVE certification.
Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless-steel vats, followed by 16 to 20 months of maturation in barrel before bottling at the château. With a reported production of roughly 12,000 to 15,000 bottles for the 2022 vintage, this is not a wine made on a large scale.
