Product info about Alter Ego 2022
Alter Ego 2022 is Château Palmer's Margaux interpreted in a deliberately different way from the estate's grand vin. Since the 1998 vintage, Alter Ego has been made as its own expression of the Palmer terroir rather than as a simple remainder selection. In 2022 the blend is 51% merlot, 43% cabernet sauvignon and 6% petit verdot, bringing together ripeness, structure and a discreet spicy accent.The vintage came from a warm, dry growing season, with smaller berries and skins that contributed a clearly defined tannic frame. Palmer vinifies parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled conical vats. Ageing takes place in two stages: first in 225-litre barrels, less than half of them new, followed by time in large wooden foudres. The result is intended to show fruit expression and suppleness, with a structure that is approachable earlier than Château Palmer while still carrying the identity of Margaux.

Château Palmer is a renowned wine producer from the Bordeaux region in France, more specifically from the Margaux appellation in the Médoc. The estate has a history that dates back to the early 19th century and is known for its namesake red wines.
