Château Gazin 2022 Magnum is the grand vin of Château Gazin in Pomerol, bottled here in the 1.5-litre format. Magnum refers to the bottle size, not to a separate cuvée. In the Bordeaux range at Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a serious Pomerol from a warm, dry vintage, with the added presence that a magnum naturally brings to the table.The estate covers 26 hectares on the clay and gravel plateau of Pomerol, in one large block. The 2022 blend is led overwhelmingly by merlot, supported by small proportions of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. That gives the wine a clear Gazin identity: ripe fruit, floral detail and a structure shaped by the estate's gravel and clay soils.
The 2022 season brought high temperatures, dry conditions and small berries, with limited yields. In the cellar, extraction was kept supple and measured because the grape tannins were already fully ripe. Ageing took place in barriques, half of them new, adding notes such as brioche, vanilla and blond tobacco. It is also worth noting that no second wine was produced in 2022, so the focus remained on the grand vin.
This is a wine intended for further bottle age. The producer points to an attractive drinking phase after additional cellaring, around 2032 to 2034, although earlier drinking is possible with decanting. Serve at 17 to 18 °C with veal, beef, lamb, duck, game or roasted, braised and grilled dishes. At Drankenshop Broekmans, only the last bottles of this magnum remain.

About CH GAZIN
Château Gazin is a French winery from the famous Bordeaux region and is known for its production of red wine on the right bank area of the Dordogne river. The estate is located in Pomerol, a relatively small but prestigious wine appellation that is internationally regarded as the birthplace of some of the most highly valued Bordeaux wines.
