Michele Chiarlo Moscato d'Asti 2024 is a sweet, lightly sparkling white wine from Piedmont, made from Moscato Bianco. Released by Michele Chiarlo under the name Nivole, it comes from the Moscato d'Asti DOCG and carries a name linked to the Piedmontese word for clouds, a fitting image for its light, fragrant style.The grapes are grown in the historic Moscato area around Asti, on white sandy soils of marine sedimentary origin, and are harvested by hand. In the cellar, the focus is on preserving Moscato's aromatic purity: gentle pressing of whole grapes, cold storage of the must and slow temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. Fermentation stops at 5% alcohol, while part of the naturally formed carbon dioxide remains in the wine, giving it its fine, gentle sparkle.
