Chateau Doisy Daene 2021 Barsac Demi is the sweet white Barsac from Château Doisy-Daëne, a Second Cru Classé from the 1855 classification of Sauternes and Barsac. The 37.5 cl demi bottle is not a separate cuvée; it is the same wine in a smaller format, useful when you want to enjoy a serious sweet Bordeaux without opening a full bottle.The 2021 vintage stands out for its very small production and clear concentration. This release is described as 100% Sémillon from the elevated limestone and clay plateau of Haut-Barsac. The grapes were concentrated by noble rot and harvested by hand in successive selective passes, then fermented by picking and parcel in barriques, followed by maturation in oak and further resting in stainless steel tanks.
Its appeal lies in the way sweetness, botrytis depth and freshness come together. Barsac produced very little wine in 2021, but the style is noted for energy, precision and aromatic intensity. Château Doisy Daëne is a French winery located in the Barsac appellation in the Bordeaux region. The estate is mainly known for its sweet white wines, produced primarily from Sémillon grapes, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the château has been owned by the Dubourdieu family, who have built a strong reputation in both traditional and modern winemaking. The vineyards of Château Doisy Daëne benefit from the unique microclimate of Barsac, which offers ideal conditions for noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) and thus contributes to the character of the sweet dessert wines. In addition to the classic Barsac, the estate also produces dry white Bordeaux wines, which is relatively unusual for this appellation. The wines of Château Doisy Daëne are known for their freshness, aromatic complexity and structure, qualities that are appreciated internationally.
