Le Comte de Malartic Lagravière 2021 in magnum is a dry white Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, made by Château Malartic-Lagravière. It is the estate's second white wine, released under the name Le Comte de Malartic since the 2020 vintage. The name refers back to the historic Malartic identity and to Comte Hippolyte Maurès de Malartic.The 2021 blend is 87% sauvignon blanc and 13% sémillon, sourced from the estate's own vineyards. The white grapes come from a relatively small part of the property, planted on well-draining gravel, clay-rich gravel and a subsoil with shell limestone. That setting supports the focused, fresh style associated with this wine.
The vintage was demanding, with April frost, a cool wet May and later a drier period that helped ripening. For the white grapes, the château highlights healthy fruit, aromatic freshness and good density. Harvesting was carried out by hand in successive selections, followed by fermentation and 12 months on the lees in French oak barrels, including 30% new oak and bâtonnage during ageing.

Château Malartic-Lagravière is a well-known wine producer from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Pessac-Lëognan appellation, part of Graves. The château has a history dating back to the eighteenth century, having known several owners before the Bonnie family took over the estate in 1997. The vineyards cover around 53 hectares and are planted with classic Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for red, and Sauvignon Blanc, Sëmillon with a small proportion of Muscadelle for white. Château Malartic-Lagravière belongs to the select group of Graves vineyards that achieved cru classé status for both red and white during the 1953 classification (revised in 1959). The winery is appreciated for an elegant style and strives to produce wines that clearly express the terroir, supported by modern vinification techniques and sustainable vineyard practices.
