Chateau Croix De Labrie 2021 is the first wine of Château Croix de Labrie, a small Saint-Émilion estate run by Axelle and Pierre Courdurié. It comes from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation and is built around Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is clearly Bordeaux in origin, shaped by a domaine where parcel selection and precision matter greatly.The fruit comes from several estate plots around Saint-Émilion, including Badon, Le Cateau and vineyards in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes. The estate works organically and biodynamically, with hand harvesting in small crates and repeated sorting to select ripe grapes. In the cellar, the same careful approach continues with parcel-by-parcel vinification in small temperature-controlled vats, gravity handling and maturation with a significant proportion of new oak.
Bordeaux 2021 was a demanding vintage, yet this wine is repeatedly noted for its freshness, precision and tannin structure. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as a Saint-Émilion for drinkers who appreciate concentrated dark Bordeaux fruit, but also floral lift, spice and a firm sense of structure. With only the last bottles remaining, this vintage carries an added sense of scarcity.
