Château Branaire-Ducru 2021 Demi is the estate's grand vin from Saint-Julien, offered here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. It is a red Bordeaux from the Left Bank and comes from a château classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 classification.The 2021 vintage has a distinctly classical feel. Compared with 2018, 2019 and 2020, the year was cooler and wetter, and the wine is described less in terms of sheer power than freshness, precision and structure. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend at 66%, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

About CH BRANAIRE DUCRU
Château Branaire-Ducru is a well-known winery from the French Bordeaux region, more specifically from the Saint-Julien appellation in the Médoc. The winery traces its roots back to the 17th century and has been classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé since 1855, which places it in the fourth category of classified Bordeaux wines within the famous classification of that year. The vineyards cover about 60 hectares and are situated on well-drained gravel soils, which is favorable for the ripening of the grapes. Château Branaire-Ducru focuses strongly on the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, typical for the region. The house style is generally characterized by elegant structure, balance, and a refined expression of fruit, without overly heavy extraction. Under the leadership of the Maroteaux family, who have managed the château since the late 1980s, there has been continuous investment in quality and the modernization of techniques, with respect for tradition. In addition to the main wine, the estate also produces a second wine, Duluc de Branaire-Ducru. The name Branaire-Ducru refers to the history of the estate and former owners, which contributes to the rich character of the winery.
