Blason De L'Evangile 2021 is the second wine of Château L'Evangile in Pomerol, offering a more supple and earlier-drinking view of the estate than the Grand Vin. The 2021 blend is 84% merlot and 16% cabernet franc, with fruit selected from lighter sandy, silty and clay-based parcels within the property.The vintage itself was far from straightforward. An Atlantic growing season, spring frost and changeable conditions shaped the year, making precision especially important. In this context, cabernet franc plays a notable role, bringing aromatic freshness to the blend. 2021 was also the first officially certified organic vintage for Château L'Evangile.
The winemaking underlines that restrained style: temperature-controlled cement vats, gentle pump-overs and ageing where oak remains in the background rather than dominating the wine. Château L'Evangile is a French winery located in the famous appellation of Pomerol, part of the Bordeaux region. The estate, situated on the right bank of the Gironde river, enjoys great renown in the wine world for its elegant and deep red wines, mainly made from Merlot, often supplemented with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc. Château L'Evangile has a history dating back to the 18th century and is one of the established names of Pomerol, despite the fact that the region itself has no formal classification system like other parts of Bordeaux. The winery has been owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1990, who are known for their meticulous viticulture and respect for tradition.
