Chateau Haut-Batailley 2021 Demi is the half-bottle format of the grand vin of Chateau Haut-Batailley, a red Pauillac from the Médoc. The estate is a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, and the 2021 blend is clearly led by cabernet sauvignon: 70% cabernet sauvignon and 30% merlot.The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was cooler and later than several warmer years, and that shows in the wine's personality. Rather than leaning on richness, it is described through freshness, precision and structure. The grapes were hand-harvested, selected in the vineyard and sorted again in the cellar, followed by around 16 months of ageing in French oak barriques, about 70% of them new.

About CH HAUT-BATAILLEY
Château Haut-Batailley is a winery from the Bordeaux region in France, more specifically from the renowned Pauillac appellation in the Médoc. The estate has a long history in the wine world, dating back to the 18th century. Since the Bordeaux classification of 1855, Château Haut-Batailley has belonged to the Crus Classés as a fifth Grand Cru Classé (Cinquième Cru). For a long time, the estate was managed by the Borie family, until it was taken over in 2017 by the Cazes family, also known from Château Lynch-Bages. The vineyards are located on classic gravel soils, characteristic of Pauillac, and cover more than 20 hectares. The grape varieties are traditional for this region, with an emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented with Merlot and a small share of Cabernet Franc. Château Haut-Batailley is known for its wines that combine power, elegance and refined complexity, often with a solid structure and potential for long aging. The estate works with respect for tradition, but under recent ownership has also invested in further quality and modernization of viticulture and vinification.
