Château Les Grands Chênes 2021 Magnum is a red Médoc from Bordeaux in the generous 1.5 litre format. It comes from Saint-Christoly-Médoc on the Left Bank, from a Bernard Magrez estate with vineyards on Garonne gravel. The wine has a clear Bordeaux identity: merlot and cabernet sauvignon, freshness, structure and a 2021 profile that feels more poised than powerful.The 2021 blend is 60% merlot and 40% cabernet sauvignon. Fermentation took place in small temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with a maceration of 28 to 30 days. The wine then matured for 14 months, partly in vat, partly in barriques and with a small proportion in jars. That combination keeps the fruit in focus while adding cedar, toast and spice around it.
