Château de Fieuzal Rouge 2021 Demi is the red grand vin of Château de Fieuzal from Pessac-Léognan, bottled here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. Demi refers to the size of the bottle, not to a different cuvée. It is the same dry red Bordeaux from France's Left Bank, carrying the Cru Classé de Graves classification for red wine.The 2021 blend is based on merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. It was a demanding vintage, marked by spring frost, wetter conditions and a later harvest, and the wine reflects that more precise side of Bordeaux: fresh, focused and structured, with emphasis on tension and tannin rather than overt ripeness or weight.
Hand harvesting, careful grape selection and parcel-by-parcel vinification underline the detailed approach behind the wine, followed by ageing in French oak barrels. About CH DE FIEUZAL
Château de Fieuzal is a winery from the renowned wine region of Pessac-Léognan, located south of Bordeaux in France. The estate has a history dating back to the 16th century and bears the name of the Fieuzal family, who owned it in the 19th century. Château de Fieuzal is especially known for its red and white wines, made from traditional Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon. The vineyards cover about 48 hectares and are spread over gravel-rich soils, which give the wines a typical structure and elegance. Fieuzal's red wines are known for their seductive aroma and their combination of power and freshness, while the white wines are loved for their finesse and aromatic richness. Château de Fieuzal is part of the Grands Crus Classés of Graves, a classification dating from 1953. Since 2001, the estate has been owned by the Irish Quinn family, who have invested in modernizing the cellar and further improving quality, while maintaining respect for tradition and terroir.
