Ceretto Barolo Brunate 2019 comes from one of the most compelling sites in Barolo: the historic Brunate vineyard near La Morra, close to the boundary with Barolo itself. For Ceretto, Brunate is not just a name on the label, but a vineyard cuvée of around 5.6 hectares, south-facing and part of the estate's work with this cru for several decades.Made from 100% Nebbiolo, this is a Barolo DOCG with the kind of patient handling that suits the variety. The 2019 fruit saw around 25 days of skin contact, followed by maturation in oak, including larger casks. The result is positioned firmly in the world of serious, age-worthy Barolo rather than immediate, simple fruit expression.
