Château Tour Léognan 2019 is a red Pessac-Léognan from the Château Carbonnieux estate in Léognan. Tour Léognan is not itself a Grand Cru Classé, but it comes from the same property as Château Carbonnieux, a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, and is made with a more approachable, earlier-drinking style in mind.Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the basis of the blend. The fruit comes from young Carbonnieux vines grown on Garonne gravel soils with sand, stones, clay and loam. The red grapes are hand harvested, selected and vinified separately by origin before the wine spends 9 months in Bordeaux barriques. That gives a gentle wood influence without moving the wine away from its rounded, fruit-driven character.
