Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2022 is the dry white grand vin of Château Carbonnieux in Pessac-Léognan. It is not simply a white counterpart to a red wine: Carbonnieux is one of the Bordeaux estates classified in Graves for both white and red, and that sense of seriousness comes through in the way this wine is made.
The 2022 blend is 60% Sauvignon and 40% Sémillon. The vintage was warm and dry, giving small, concentrated grapes and low yields. For the white wine, early picking was important to preserve the Carbonnieux style. The grapes were harvested by hand, carefully selected, gently pressed and then fermented and matured in oak vessels on the lees, with the oak described as supportive rather than dominant.

Very last one in stock!
Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2022 Magnum is the dry white grand vin of Château Carbonnieux in Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux. The magnum indication refers to the 1.5-litre bottle size, not to a separate cuvée, and gives this Grand Cru Classé de Graves white a particularly generous table presence.
For the 2022 vintage, the blend is 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon. Sauvignon brings aromatic drive and freshness, while Sémillon is described by the estate as adding roundness, volume and structure. The grapes come from the estate's Garonne gravel soils with clay and limestone, and Carbonnieux works plot by plot from vineyard through to the end of barrel ageing.

Chateau Tour Leognan 2019

Château Tour Léognan 2019 is a red Pessac-Léognan from the Château Carbonnieux estate in Léognan. Tour Léognan is not itself a Grand Cru Classé, but it comes from the same property as Château Carbonnieux, a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, and is made with a more approachable, earlier-drinking style in mind.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the basis of the blend. The fruit comes from young Carbonnieux vines grown on Garonne gravel soils with sand, stones, clay and loam. The red grapes are hand harvested, selected and vinified separately by origin before the wine spends 9 months in Bordeaux barriques. That gives a gentle wood influence without moving the wine away from its rounded, fruit-driven character.
